Our Writing Sequence
Children's opportunities for writing are varied here at Carlton and children have the opportunity to write across a range of subjects.
In English we follow a very clear writing sequence. The aim is to give the children the skills required to write in a range of genres.
The writing sequence lasts between two and three weeks.
The sequence is as follows
Part 1 - Exploring the text
Part 2 - Vocabulary linked to the text
Part 3 - Grammar
Part 4 - Plan
Part 5 - Write
Part 6 - Proofread and edit
